How Philippine Businesses Can Show Up on Google Maps

When someone near your shop searches "bakery near me", Google shows a map with a few businesses. Being on that map brings walk-ins, calls and messages. Here is how to get there.

Step 1: Create your free Google Business Profile

A Google Business Profile is the listing that shows your name, location, hours and photos on Google Maps. It is free.

1. Go to Google Business Profile and sign in with a Google account you control.
2. Add your exact business name, the way it appears on your signage.
3. Choose the category that best describes what you do.
4. Add your address or the towns and cities you serve.
5. Confirm your business. Google will tell you how, often by phone, email or video.

Step 2: Fill in every detail

Listings with complete information get more clicks. Add:

• opening hours (and update them on holidays)
• phone number and website
• clear photos of your shop, products and team
• a short description in plain words

Step 3: Make your website match

Your business name, address and phone number should be the same on your website, your Google listing and your Facebook page. Small differences, like "St." on one and "Street" on another, are fine, but a different phone number is not.

Your website should also say clearly what you offer and where, for example "Dental clinic in" followed by your city. This helps Google connect your website to local searches.

Step 4: Ask happy customers for reviews

Reviews help people choose you. After a good job, send a short message with your review link. Reply to every review, good or bad, politely.

Never buy reviews or write your own. Google can remove them, and customers can usually tell.

Step 5: Keep it fresh

Post updates, new photos and promos now and then. An active listing looks trustworthy.
